Here are 4 ideas to help you get started:

How long is the service? It’s nice to know how long a service typically runs so people can plan accordingly.
What about kids? Visitors with children like to know what to do when they first walk in—should they head to the kid’s classrooms or bring them into the main service? Also, they want to know what kind of care their child will be receiving.
What’s the service like? Let people know the style of music, whether the service is formal or informal, and other details so they know what to expect. Try to make these details reflect the mission and values of your church.
How do people normally dress? People feel more comfortable in a new place when they don’t feel like they stand out.

Visiting

SUNDAYS AT RIVERSIDE

Please follow Timiskaming Health Unit COVID Regulations regarding mask wearing and social distancing. We may also be asked to change capacity limits. Please contact the church (705-642-3205) if you have questions or concerns prior to your visit.

Riverside is a casual place at all times. We want you to be free to come, relax and enjoy learning and growing in a safe and friendly environment. We meet upstairs for our Sunday service with ample parking available in the upper parking lot (off Victoria St.). Due to COVID capacity restrictions if the weather is nice we have been meeting outside in the Garden of Hope. The washrooms inside the facility are available. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair and join us!

On Sundays starting at 9:45AM you’ll find friends during Coffee Time in the comfort of the lounge (paused due to Covid Restrictions) and at 10:30AM Pastor Pete will teach from the Bible and lead us in music on his guitar, others help at times as well. The words to the songs are shown on the screens at the front of the stage or if outside we have printed copies. Feel free to bring a Bible if you have one or use a Bible app on your phone. We also livestream on Youtube and our Facebook pages. Our services are usually 1-1 1/2 hours.

BRINGING KIDS?

The Duck Pond is our play space for infant – 3 1/2 year olds and midway through the service we have a supervised Busy Beavers & Explorers program for ages 4 to Grade 5 each Sunday. Please follow health unit guidelines and send a mask for your child. As always, feel free to bring items that may help your child feel more comfortable in a new setting, like snacks or quiet toys.

The first Sunday each month is Family Sunday where we all join together. Pastor Pete often has an interactive lesson that includes the kids too. We also have a potluck lunch together downstairs that all are welcome to join. These activities have been paused due to COVID restrictions.

Please note that we are a Peanut Aware environment.

Our Community Resource Library is also open and includes a wide range of up to date Christian adult fiction and non-fiction, DVDs and CDs in the lounge. Along with our Children’s section which includes non-fiction and fiction books and VHS/DVDs adjacent to the playroom. All are welcome to check these resources out.
